Project Overview
This project is a large-scale urban high-rise development constructed by China Railway No.3 Engineering Group, located in Xi’an High-Tech Zone. The development includes one super high-rise tower combined with a multi-storey podium and a three-level underground parking structure. The total planned construction area exceeds 120,000 m², with above-ground and underground reinforced concrete structures integrated into a dense urban environment. The main tower reaches a height of nearly 200 meters, with above-ground floors exceeding 40 levels and multiple basement levels, placing high demands on structural accuracy, construction efficiency, and system reliability.
Aluminum Formwork Implementation
Aluminum formwork was adopted as the primary structural forming system for this project to address the challenges of super high-rise construction, tight schedules, and high repetition of standard floors. The aluminum formwork system enabled precise control of wall, slab, beam, and core tube geometry across dozens of repeated cycles, ensuring consistent dimensional accuracy and structural alignment. Compared with traditional timber and steel formwork, aluminum formwork significantly reduced labor intensity, improved hoisting efficiency at height, and delivered high-quality concrete surface finishes suitable for direct application or minimal finishing. The lightweight, high-strength system was especially effective in supporting fast floor-cycle construction in a high-rise environment.

Performance Results and Engineering Value
Through the use of aluminum formwork, the project achieved accelerated construction progress, stable quality control, and improved site safety throughout the structural phase. High reuse cycles reduced overall material consumption and waste generation, supporting sustainable construction objectives. Standardized modular panels ensured predictable execution across both the tower and podium structures, lowering rework risk and total cost per floor. This project demonstrates the proven advantages of aluminum formwork in super high-rise residential and mixed-use developments, confirming it as the optimal formwork solution for large-scale, high-precision, high-efficiency concrete construction in modern Chinese cities.
